Hi there,
Will getting a 40x card have any noticable improvment over an 8x card on a 300D? what speed do they wright at?
any good UK sites for getting CF cards from?

I spent the extra money when i bought my camera for a "fast" card then I got a good deal on a cheap 256 card and the difference was not worth the money for just casual shooting. The faster speed is not really not noticable on on the 300d since the write speed is not fast anyway. I'd say unless you are shooting sports (the rebel kinda sucks for that anyway) dont waste the money because after 4 shots your waitng, An extra second is not worth the double in price. If I had a mark II I am sure I'd have a different opinion.

The Rebel will not benefit from a 40x card. 12x is suffice. One thing is for sure, don't use a regular speed CF Card. Your camera will be extinct before it finishes writing.
