CHEAP off shoe flash?

I was wondering what the cheapest options for off shoe flash (Can be cable or completely detached) for my 400D and 580EX II???

Ive done a bit of research on canon product and all are teribly over priced. Any help would be great, Thanks.

If i get some cheap Ebay ones with 1 Transmitter and 2 Receivers can i use my Canon 580EX II and Olympus FL50 both set off by a transmitter on my 400D?

Yup, the transmitters will set off almost any flash.

But i need to use everything full manual right?? So that means using non canon transmitters i can have 2 flashes since i will also have my olympus unit??
