Well, as you probably remember, I bought a Sigma 15-30 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35762) as a wide-angle lens. I promised samples, so here they are -

Great looking shots. Seems like a great lens. A wide angle is something I am considering. I'll have to keep this baby in mind.

Your photos look great. I'm glad you like your sigma. I love wide angle photos. Too bad canon has such a limited selection of wide angle lenses. Lucky these third party lenses do a nice job.

i would prefer to see the full sized untouched images before making a judgement.

I found this lense never worked properly on the 1D, it worked ok on a friends D60. I traded it on a Canon 16-35. No problems.

I like my Sigma 12-24.

I bought the same a few weeks ago and love it.
It a bit less sharp than my 28-75 f2.8 Tamron I believe but it's a superb lens for the modelwork if you want to get closer and still have full body shots.

Greetings,
Frank

Thanks all for your feedback.
The Sigma isn't the sharpest lens out there and the images do require a certain amount of sharpening - but it allows me to go WIDE and eventually I get the images I want. A little post-processing haven't killed anyone yet, have it ?

I've read some personal reports on this lens that state that flare is a real problem with this lens? Did you encounter this problem?

Yep, the flare IS a problem with this lens. You have to be very carefull about where to point it and what kind of light sources to include in the frame.

Oleg ... great shots ... love #4 ... I too purchased the 15 - 30 a few months ago and it has become a favourite ... agree with the flare problem ... also, when using the lens hood, watch our for vignetting at 15 mm.
cheers,
jim
