I ordered a monopod w/ head on Thursday evening and today is Saturday evening, when i checked the status it says "processing". Is that normal.

Yes, that is quite normal.

When I place an order late on Thursday night, they won't get the order packed until Sunday night. Then it is Monday before the shipper gets it.

B&H is very good. This is normal operating procedure.

B&H does not operate seven days a week. Their days off may be different from your days off.

Ordering late on Thursday often means a Sunday shipping date.

Actually, B&H closes at noon on Friday and stays closed through Saturday for the Sabbath. They hit it big on Sundays, though. You'll get your monopod. They're great people to deal with.

i got someone who could barely speak english on the phone with b&h...that sort of was awkward...

but they said if you do 2 day air or faster and order before 4pm it will shop out the same day

sure enough, I ordered my Elan 7n in the early afternoon and it was here the next morning, paid $20 for shipping though, cause I had to have it for class the following day and I didnt want to risk it not getting here...

I was very impressed, amazon wanted 2-3 days just to ship it...bastards...hehe
