let me make it simple, found a refurbished 1D body sealed in factory box, with warranty, i knew i would do something wise(stupid?) straightaway, i sold my 10D ... together with battery grip and 4 batteries.
Can't wait to get my hands on the new 1D!!! As my photography is more towards sports and photojournalism, i figure i'd need something quick in order to help me achieve the goal quicker, i hope it's a wise move. Losing 2mp isn't a problem for me at all, i barely blow up my images too big, also 1D is capable of printing up to A3, which is more than enough. Also since it's a refurbished body, i don't need to worry much about its condition, especially actuations, unlike the other used 1D body i found in a local camera shop, for the same price, i'd rather go with something new.
Gonna go pick up the new camera next week, either on monday or tuesday, will bring all my lenses along so i can test it out there n then.
I know it's a totally different control compare to 10D, but i think i'll have enough time to learn and play with it before my August assignment.
Mind all you 1D and 1D MK II owner though, i'll probably bombard this forum with all sorts of silly questions regarding tips and advices on better camera control, hope all ya folks here won't mind.
Why not 1D MK II? simply because i can't afford it  then, 1D is not so much different in camera operation as 1D MK II(my guess), just in case in the near future my magic 6 numbers match THE jackpot number(for that, i'd better start buying lottery, if i can find spare cash other than feed myself), i can then buy a MK II without worrying too many of "how to" questions.
Will keep you posted, wish me luck :D
