After all the discussion yesterday I spent a lot of time with the trial version of BB today and agree it seems much faster than Digital Photo Pro. I did go ahead and purchase the program but have a couple of easy questions. Obviously there is no manual but does their web site have decent support? Is there a feature like in DPP where if I have several raw photos shot in the same lighting condition that all need the same exposure compensation that I can batch correct and apply receipe to all the simular photos? Also it appears that the default setting when you convert raw pictures is to sharpen them. How does this program compare to photoshop in this regards? Thanks for your help.

I find that the default color settings of BB are far more accuate than PSCS>.. PSCS seems to make every thing have rather odd colors.. forcing you to tweek white balance 100% of the time.
BB uses the Canon software at it's heart.. so the conversion is supposed to be of the same quality as using Canon's converters... (quality was never an issue with the canon software.. just "usability: and speed.)

Select the raw files you'd like to convert with the same group of settings and choose Tools --> Batch Convert. Set the settings the way you'd like and hit convert selected and you're good to go.

I don't think that is correct. You are limited in what settings you can apply in Batch Conversion. There is no exposure correction in Batch Correction. You have more options by selecting the files you want to convert and select Convert All.
From BreezeBrowser Help:
"Batch conversion of raw files is similar to the 'Convert All' option in the 'Convert Raw Image' dialog but with two important differences:
It is not possible to select a custom white balance
Each image is converted with its own settings as opposed to the same white balance, saturation, contrast and sharpness settings being used for all the images.

Thanks a lot for the great help. I have spent a lot of time trying to learn the program and Scott is right about the file saving process. I am impressed that the RAW file processing is much quicker than in DPP. I wish there was a way to adjust the brightness of the JPEG files also because it appears you can only do this with the RAW files. I still like to save some of my routine pictures this way so as not to eat up all of my 250 Gb hard drive. It seems that almost all of my flash pics need to have the exposure tweaked with the 550 unit and this is much easier to do with JPEG files in DPP.

Chris Breeze the author of Breezebrowser runs a Yahoo group and the support he gives is excellent, he also takes suggestions on features etc and if possible incorporates them into the software.
