Shot in a light tent, with XTi & 50mm 1.8, I'm not sure, if I prefer the black or the white background.

I think the black allows for much more detail and contrast. Nicely done.

Black is best. dont like this style of studio work though, too setup and fake mood. O well im biased what can I say. :) nice shot though.

I agree, it does make for a fake mood, but is fun to do, and they sell quite well ;)

I like your photos dont get me wrong. they would be amazing for product shots thats for sure. I wouldnt hang them as art though ;-)

I understand, they're not my idea of art, to hang on the wall either, but they do well in calendars and a few businesses have used them for their ads etc...

The black background is definitely the way to go for then the dark background is not competing with the lighter colored shells. Allows the colors to POP more. Good still life.
