is it true that this lens creat distortion @ wide angle?
also did Canon discontinue making a 17-35mm f/2.8L lens? I cant seems to find one in B&H

Yes............some distortion at 17 mm.
And yes..............the 17-35 has been replaced with the 16-35 :-)

Panorama Tools has also distortion correction tools - not easy to use but quality is very good, and it's free.

cool, will keep in mind and give it a go, it comes with ps cs, right? or is it a third party program?

Try buying one on Ebay. That's where I sold mine a few weeks ago.

If I remember right, there are some compelling reasons not to buy that lens, mostly due to its age and the improvements in technology in the newer lenses. I would research it thoroughly before buying.
