How do you read the exif data in posted photos? I right-click, then hit properties, but no data. ???

Most people strip the exif data before they post to the web, as it takes up space and there's a 100kb limit on file uploads. "Save for web" in photoshop strips exif data.

tmonatr,
What software are you using? ???
What Operating System are you using? ???

If using Windows there are free software additions to show Exif data in Firefox like
Exif Viewer (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905) & FxIF (http://ted.mielczarek.org/code/mozilla/fxif/) or Internet Explorer like Opanda (http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html)

Of course like tim said the photo might not have the Exif data in the file. The common save for web and older software strip the Exif data from the file.

Thanks, Tim. I knew that the Save for Web doesn't contain the EXIF, but I see alot in posts where people are reading the posters info and I didn't know how.

John, I'm using Vista.

I have vista, too. I use firefox and their exif plugin - it works a bit better on firefox than Opanda did - but I still use Opanda on IE (when I can be bothered using IE)

download Opanda .. it is free and integrates with both Explorer and/or Firefox - go to www.opanda.com

Once installed, you can right click a photo and select VIEW EXIF. easy
