This was shot today with a diffuser like BrianV uses. What do you think of the lighting? The end was covered in two layers of kitchen towel.

Its a nice fly shot, but with regard to the lighting, exposure of the fly looks just a tad on the dark side to me.

Thanks Linda for the feedback. I thought it may have been a bit dark but wanted some other opinions.

I agree with Linda - it looks a fraction dark to me as well. Other than that, looks good :)

Looks pretty good- pic is a bit dark though. I only use a single sheet of towel over the end (as it comes off the roll). I also tend to try and shoot in M mode where the exposure is only about 1 stop underexposed without the flash so you get more natural light in the shot. Not always possible I realise especially when shooting nearer 2:1 or over.

Lighting looks very good, but I concur with the dark comments earlier.

Getting the correct lighting can be very tricky. (Translation: I have attempted fill-in flash, but the success rate has not been high... ;))

Wish I had time for more trial and error.
