I really don't think it should matter if that should be multiplied by 4, do you ?

But seriously ... since I was in my early teens until now, with the exception of 1 year, I have always wanted to be 21. Only year I didn't want to be 21 was the year I WAS 21

It's good to see some people over the age of 60 in this fourm. To many in the older generation think "I can learn anything new" :D I just hope that when I am that age, I too will be willing to learn something new :)

45 here - old enough to know better, but too old to care!

NZL-3G, I know exactly what you're saying. My dad is in his 80's and still enjoys photography, though at a much slower pace. He has an excellent camera, but its quite old - an A1. He ought to step up to autofocus, but he won't even do that. I know that if he'd get into digital, he would rediscover a little piece of youth, at least for a while.

Oh, you will, G3user. It just gets a lot harder.

My mother was still doing the daily crossward puzzle from the Los Angeles Times when she was 93 (and completing it), and even though he was completely blind, my father was an avid letter writer and correspondent until he passed away at age 98. I don't know that they were remarkable in any other way except that they kept their minds busy right up to the end. That's what I hope to do.

(If I croak tomorrow, I guess I'll have gotten my wish thanks in part to photography. )

Thought I would give a bit more information. I am 74 and bought my first digital camera several years ago. A G2. I followed that with a G3 which I still have and recently acquired a 10 D along with an assortment of lenses. Digital photography is an ideal, expensive and demanding retirement hobby.

As an aside, I purchased my first Harley in 1948 and have been riding ever since. My moniker "2hog" was given to me by my son-in-law as I still own and ride 2 Harleys. Harleys and digital photography make dandy hobbies. They go well together.

To go along with all this I had to build 2 computer systems and try to learn Photoshop CS and BreezeBrowser. What a "rush". I will probably be 110 before I get it all figured out if then.

Life doesn't begin at 40 - life begins at 70.

21, starting messing around with my dads Nikon when I was 8. Was interested in photography until I was 12-13. From about 12-13 to about the age of 17, I was more into collecting photographs and whatnot. Then at 17 my friend got me back into it once he showed me his nikon F5, what a camera! He had 2 of them, so he let me hold one in my possession for a few years. He ended up selling both to a studio. I was cameraless for a year till about 3-4 months ago when we got a Canon a75.

Now I'm getting my own set of stuff very soon. I'm getting my degree in photography and journalism. Plan documenting the world and life, trying to do my part in keeping Nachtwey's legacy of giving those without voices a voice, until the day I die.

So, thats how old I am, when I started, stopped, started, stopped and plan to start again and how I plan on continuing it.
Cheers.

I started taking pictures when I graduated from High School on a summer trip to Europe. (Canon TX and a Kodak Retina)

Came home and got an EOS 620 when it came out in '87/88. Stopped taking pictures due to the expense and the realization that my thing was travel photography and life wasn't allowing for travel.

Last year I bought a BMW mototcycle and started travelling the country. I had to get pictures to go with the travel journals. I knew I wanted a digital, so, I got the dRebel the end of September 2003 and over 4,000 pictures later I love it. Need more glass though.

I'm with 2Hog, photography and motorcycles really go together well. Although getting two bodies, four lenses and sundry stuff packed safely can be an issue.

Just over two years old (I don't know my egg laying day, my emerging day, or my metamorphisis day, nor even my becoming undead day... but I am sure I have hibernated only twice...)

Converted from frog to human years, that would be about 44... Though maybe not, since vampires don't age as fast as mere mortals. :)

Forty going on fortyone in October. Started of when I was 14 with a Kodak 126 then off to a Kodak 110 by the age of 17. Took the big step to a Canon AE1 program @ the age of 20.

39. Caught the photography bug in my teens and saved up newspaper route earnings to buy an Olympus OM-1, a couple lenses, flash and accessories. When I was 19 someone determined that they needed it more than I (parents house was burglarized while I was home from school for a weekend). Unfortunately I did not use the insurance money to properly replace my equipment ("needed" a fancy stereo for the dorm room) and I did not truly return to photography as a hobby until I went digital about 3 years ago.

29. Became interested in digital photography last summer, got a PowerShot A60 for Christmas, trying to learn more about photography! (Already wishing, at times, for more megapixels for easier cropping, and a remote for doing multiple exposures without jiggling the camera.) I've gotta say that the critiquing and tutorials (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34606) on this forum are fantastic for a learner.

I've been a tech geek since my parents bought a Vic 20, and it was partially the possibilities of editing photos and making panoramas and such that drew me in to digital cameras!

Well, 2Hog you have me beat. I'm only 70. Started taking pictures in Jr. Hi at age 15, and retired from film photography about 5 yrs. ago. I then made the mistake of buying a Nikon 990. I picked up a couple of paying jobs, and thought, hey, this is easier than film. I then bought the Canon D60, and picked up a few more jobs. I now have the Canon Mark II and hope I can pick up enough jobs now to pay for it. As someone said, life begins at 70. I've never had so much fun in all my life as now.
