Spotted this guy the other day. He sat for ages watching the ducks and hardly moving. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on these ones.

PS. Lookout for the little guy playing chicken with him in the third picture.

I really like the second one better than the cropped version. Overall I think that the images are a little dark. But I do like the overall scene of the man sitting in thought. But the third one needs some alignment help. Fix that and it would be a good shot too. Maybe even better than the one above it.

So what's the deal, the old guy catch you snapping and walk away?

I too also think the images are alittle dark, not that I know what I am talking about or anything. I wonder what it would look like if you lightened up the greens? Might lighten the background a bit and make the overall image alittle lighter.

I am also curious, why did he walk away? Oh I know! He must have saw your D70 ;-)

Think #1 is the best, but with the bottom of the bench included.

I like #1. If it was brighter & the bench was all there, it would be even better.

Thanks for all the replies. #1 would be my favorite but unfortunatly the photo isn't cropped so its not possible to bring the bench back. It was difficult to be subtle taking it so I had to be quick (see below)

Notice the hunch in his sholders? His depressed manner? All classic signs of a jealous Canon owner....

Seriously though, I don't think he actually spotted me taking pictures of him... just in his general direction. I was pretty hard to miss though. Bright red t-shirt, big tripod, 300mm lens etc.

Anyway I have to go to work so I'll keep this short. Have had a play with the pictures based on your suggestions - I really must stop making my pictures so dark. 80% of replies to my posts tell me to lighten up a bit (I assume they mean the pictures).

PS. it was him on the wonk not my picture - honest.

Definately like it in the "lighter" versions. I think by lightening it and increasing the contrast a bit, it brings more depth to the field of grass and tree.
