Waikiki show on September 15, 2007. The weather was overcast and the TBirds finished early because of bad visibility and low could ceilings. Feel free to post any other shots.

It's rare that people get above the thunderbirds. Interesting location.

I shot from an oceanside mountain. The center of the show was if front of the hotels on the first pic and I only caught the outsides of the show. The Blue Angels will be here next month, I'll have to find another high angle.

The third shot of the single Thunderbird over the ocean is a great shot. That one should be hanging on your wall. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone...The focal length was at 200mm, I need an extender for the Blues. These guys or the Blues come here every 5-10 years and it is rare we get both within a year. The Blues may be too far to shoot from a mountain top so I'll have to have the average angled shots.

Diamondhead? I also agree with number 3 being my favorite. Others are great as well.

Number one in the post above is awesome! Would have loved to be there with my 400mm's.
The T-Birds are not coming there again next year tho are they? Would be good coupled with a Hawaii vacation :D
btw... would that position be backlit if the sun is out? Thanks!

Thanks! Don't know when they are returning. At my position they were at full throttle so as the got close it was difficult to keep them in the frame because of their speed. It was 2:30 when they started and would have been slightly backlit. I am looking NW on the very first photo.

I think you're getting the Blue Angels because the MCAS Miramar airshow is getting the Thunderbirds instead of the blues this year.
I'm SO excited to see the T-Birds in San Diego!!!
YAYAYAYAY
I'd also like to congratulate you on these awesome and unique shots!

Back in 2003 I got to see the Thunderbird's, Blue Angels, and Canadian Snowbirds all at the same show, Ever since then I have been disappointed at every air show I go to. Especially the one where I saw them at Dayton, Ohio.

Wow...a resurrection of the Tbirds...Thanks everyone for your kind words. I may miss the Blues this year do to my daughter's camping trip. Not a biggy for me because the Blues will return some year, but my daughters are kids only once.

The beaches are never that crowded. I hope the rain goes away prior to your arrival. It isn't that bad though, only passing drizzles during the day. If you hike up to Diamond Head Lookout from inside the crater, you'll have the same view without the Tbirds. We just had a POTN meet at Waikiki beach this past week, it's on my sig.
