Has anyone tried the new Toshiba 5MB microdrive in the D60? I asked Canon if it would work, and they have not tried it.

I'm not familiar with it.

Do you mean GB?

Do you have a Web address where I/we could check it out?

Thanks

Would not work! 12bitFAT is restricted to 2GB!

Drive is a full size PCMCIA II card for notebooks.

While on the microdrive subject...

There have rumors of a 2 GB microdrive from IBM. It is my understanding that IBM has/will soon sell its hard drive division so a limited use item like this (compared to normal PC/MAC hard drives) will probably die with the sale of that division. I really can't see Hitachi, Maxtor, Seagate, or WDC carrying this line on. :(

Well so much for my 2 cents on the subject.

That would certainly be a shame. I've used my 1gb drive since the very first day with my D60. The card that came with the camera had never even seen the light of day. In fact, I can't say I've ever even seen it.

If that were true, I'd probably try to pick up a couple more to have for future use.

Well thats just my opinion, but after spending the last 15 years in the computer industry and seeing the way that industry has shrunk thats my gut feeling. :(

I purchased 2 more when they had the $50 rebate last month at 250 after the rebate they were a bargin.

I think a total of 3 gives me almost 400 raw photos before having to download to my notebook.

Enjoy!

Here is the story;

They sold that division to Hitachi. Possibly the reason for the big rebate sales the last 2 months
