Hello:

I am new member to this forum. I have Canon Digital camera EOSD60. I am very happy with the camera. I am considering to buy Canon Scanner 9900F for two reasons:

1) To transfer all my slides and -ves to Hard drive and make DVD as well enlarge some pictures as well. I know that Flatbed scanner are slower then other just meant for slides and -ves but price consideration as well use the flatbed for scanning articals or for other use and convenience.

2) I have read about the reviews of this scanner - has been positive, user friendly and good scanning quality and the price.

Any suggestions, bad and good experience about this scanner?

Thanks.

I have the 9900F and have used it for the same purposes as you are intending, plus all other daily uses such as photocopying. It is excellent.

Be aware, however, that the power of your computer plays a roll in how fast and well your scans are processed. The scanner itself is fast and very capable, but if it produces a 250MB file from a high resolution scan of a slide or negative, your computer is going to have to be capable of crunching it without bogging down, locking up or crashing.
