Huh? What do you mean by "threat avoidance" could you put that into plain English please?;):p
I just meant that anything that threatens your (or someone elses) safety.
First, I write out some ideas and doodle some really rough sketches of the strips upon which the series will be built.
Then I start to write up a script, which is really a list of strips, from beginning to end, which is the structure for the series.
With the script, I start to draw the "Dailies". Sometimes I edit the script, but the overall flow remains the same.
When I started the "Adventures with Jim" series, I did so without a script, only a basic idea of what I wanted. TD and I went on a photo shoot to the coast and we worked out some of the grey areas. The next day, I had a plot. Today's strip was drawn just after that drive with TD.
I finally had a plot. :rolleyes::o
Woah...! It's just like you're producing a movie!!
Playing around with gelled flashes...
It's a product our company makes ...
Ooooh, nice. But crop it hard, take out those dark corners.
Both come out on CBS. The Unit stars the actor from the Allstate Insurance commercials and is based on the book "Inside Delta Force" or something to that nature. NCIS is a show based on the Naval Crimminal Investigative Service of the US Navy.
Is that like a sequel to "JAG"?
I'm home. I haven't even attempted catch up yet.
Hey Cat!!!! Now you're back it's going to take 5 times longer to catch up with the night's posts.

I will be working from home tomorrow

OK, for some reason I thought it was a reference to traffic patrol officers.:o

You don't resize when you export from lightroom? That is one of my favorite things since I seem to not be as good at batching in CS3. I wonder how long it will take them to make a noise ninja plug in for lightroom?

Is that like a sequel to "JAG"?
I don't think that NCIS is a sequal to JAG. They don't have lawyers in it...just Criminal Investigators/Special Agents...what ever they want to call them, I've heard both.

No, I resize before sending to Smugmug, that leaves my converted files ready to size anyway I may want for future prints, wallpaper, etc.
Doubtful that Lightroom will go to Noise Ninja since they have a noise reduction in their develop module, but; stranger things have been known to happen.;-)

I did do a whole bunch of multiple shots of the same thing as lighting with all that cloud was horrendous, lots of real dark areas of trees and rock, and lots of bright areas like the sky and such. Many shots did not turn out as good as I hoped they would. I should be able to pare the list down to 100-200 real easy. Hubby convinced me that the Ferris Wheel was fun and that I should give it a go.
Frankie, at the ripe old age of 4, was comforting ME! The jackass controlling the Wheel of Death stopped us. At the top.
Frankie patted my hand (deathgrip on the bar) and just kept saying 'It'll be okay mommy". Mind you, I wasn't screaming. However, I wasn't breathing either.
Hubby promised never to make me get up over 2 feet in the air again.

LOL! Everytime our chair would go over the pulleys, it would make this loud click click sound and Marian would groan. And when they would stop the lift for a moment for whatever reason, our chair would sway slightly. Poor thing, I thought she was going to have a heartattack. We were suposed to get off at the top, take some pictures, then get back on. We ended up just staying on, because we didn't think we'd be able to get Marian back on it to come back down. She said she'd rather walk. LOL!

Southern Utah and Northern Utah are DRASTICALLY different.
We don't get snow in St George. (well, VERY rarely we will get a dusting, but it never never sticks. I think in the 12 or so years that I've lived here, I've seen snow twice.)
BUT, drive just over an an hour north, and you hit Brianhead. One of the best ski resorts in Utah. GO still farther (3-4 hours) north, and you get to Sundance (where we were yesterday).
But all the great skiing is in Northern Utah.
Southern Utah has Zion/Bryce Canyon, etc.

It's all about what you're trying to achive imho! I like the moodiness of it. I also like the silhouette of the ship. Did you use a hard line ND grad on this shot?

Thanks for all the nice comments on the photo I posted, I will try to get some more going in the next while.
Is this too dark? I'm a bit crap at assessing how dark to make things.
I think it is fine Pete, dark looks good with the storm clouds. I too always seem to have trouble with how much to lighten things and find I often over lighten them, sometimes making detail hard to see.
Love the cute monkey. :) (Almost asked if he was a relative, then I remembered your last name and figured he was more likely related to our own Mr Monkey Pants ;))

Yes this weekend (Sat.). It's a celebration of a 15th (I thought it was 20th) anniversary (and yes, she can still wear her gown):lol::lol:
I only have a 580ex flash and a reflector. It's going to be shot at a few locations (with their motorcycles as well as a river location)...but I was wondering if it'd be okay with just that flash/reflector (I don't have any big lights)?? I've never used fill flash (she knows I've never done this...it's my aunt so I'm doing her a favor by doing the shoot and she's doing me a favor by being my guinea pig)

My advice?? Just do what you do. You're great at it. ;)

oh cool!! I was hoping he would. When last I talked to him, he said he was going to "observe" something (not sure what) so I took that to mean he was waiting to decide. But I'm very glad (because the "it'd be a privilege" is definitely his yes).

You'll love it Athena. Mine arrived today, safe and sound. It is amazing. I'm just stunned and humbled that I manage to get an image in. I want to try and get at least one in the next book too but I need to take some 'book worthy' images. I'm struggling to achieve the standard I want at the moment.

I watch NCIS. What's showing over there now? Over here I've just seen the finale of season 4 (on the satellite channel FX).
Is that like a sequel to "JAG"?
I'm fairly sure it's a 'spin off' from JAG rather than a sequel. It's by the same producers.

I've never been skiing. :(
I have. Once. As in, once down the slope. I did pretty good, too. I didn't fall or go out of control or anything. I just didn't like it, and was freezing. So, when I got to the bottom of the slope, I took off the skis, went into the lodge, and sipped hot chocolate for the rest of the day until my friends were finished. Never felt the need to try it again since then, either.
If we had waited maybe one more week to go, the fall colors would have been even more vibrant, but it is still breathtaking to say the least. The photo does not do it justice at all. You have to be able to smell it, and feel the crisp air.....
