I was a calvin and hobbes/bloom county fan myself.
i LOVED calvin and hobbes as a kid. I had all the books. :)

hehe...okay, okay. Why do I have the urge for the 20 questions game?

Don't fall asleep while in there. I have a co-worker that does that often. Dang rocking office chairs.

I guess I have to keep SOME things to myself. :)

I think Kody will have to learn that for himself. I don't let my wife return any gift I have gotten her. When she complains, I tell her that next time I will get her a gift card or take her to pick out her own gift. Silence after that:D

Funny...I always forget what my wife hints at for gifts and then I struggle trying to get her something...when I do get her a gift, of course its not what she wanted, but it is always something that was unexpected and she says she loves. Once, I made her a book that contained pictures of her and Evan and she did say she loved that one. I think it made her cry....but she loved it. ;)

from wiki:

United States
Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States. People, towns, high schools and colleges come together, usually in late September or October, to welcome back former residents and alumni. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet or a game of American football, basketball, or ice hockey. When celebrated by schools, the activities vary widely. However, they usually consist of a football game played on the school's home football field, activities for students and alumni, a parade featuring the school's marching band, and the coronation of a Homecoming Queen (and at many schools, a Homecoming King). Related "Homecoming Dances" can be either boy ask girl or Sadie Hawkins style.

Its supposed to be the time that the Seniors who graduated the year before are to return to the school to see what has been going on since and get their yearbooks, watch a football game and the such.

It's not an every year thing. Next year we will probably be taking an extensive road trip around the western states with Mr. Scotland if he comes to visit. That will be our "gift" to each other.

I definitely like the idea of something we'll both use... We have some leather chairs coming from costco that I/we ordered a couple weeks ago. I guess that is a gift to ourselves too.

I think that one year my high school team lost a homecoming game...but then they went to state a couple years. I don't remember though. I'm not sure, I haven't actually sat in them yet. They were in an online add that costco sends me. They were nicely discounted and free shipping so I figured if I didn't end up liking them, no skin off my back, I'll just return them to the local warehouse. :) I couldn't pass up the price though since we've been looking for/wanting 2 leather chairs for the living room. Phew! Is it getting warm in here? *blush*

I think they want me to draw some new stuff.... more photographic based. There's no way TR's would make any sense to anyone outside these chat threads. I've got a while before I have to submit anything.

...

*Lumbers off toward Jeep, runs into spare tire on back, slugs the spare tire with fist causing a wrenched wrist, attempts to jump over hood, causing unsightly damage to sheet metal and a bruised butt cheek, rolling unceremoniously onto the ground on the other side, getting grass stains on knees, standing up and hitting back of head on side mirror making stars appear in vision, unlocking and opening car door, attempting to jump in, but miscalculating the door jamb and bouncing side of skull off of the weather strip, sits in seat and tries the muscle flexing technique, but forgetting that the flexing technique lost its appeal twelve years ago. Starts Jeep, drives off to Starbucks, hanging head.

"Blasted Zane."*

I think the cartoons are whatever you feel most comfortable with. There was a concern that existing TR's would be a little too closely tied to the RRTP/TPBM threads. Perhaps you'll be hit with inspiration from your ringside seat to the book panel process *wink* *LOL*

Oh, and http://newquay-plus.co.uk/POTN/smilies/rotfl.gif - this made me laugh so much it hurts.

Besides what everyone said, around here it has grown into another Prom. Way too much being spent on the dresses, etc. that use to be just a "dress \-up dance" not the formal dance it is now.

We opened up a second HS this year and the students and parents can't understand why they aren't having a homecoming this year...they forgot that there is no almuni yet to come home.:D

We stayed at a motel on the ocean. It was in the Pacific Beach area. Good access from there an good food around. Just loved Joe's Crab Shack, it was a fun place to eat and the food was good. What I liked was that it was not too crowded, and there were some great walks along the beach. That was about 7 years ago, or more, and I don't remember the name of the place.

 You have NO Idea how badly I want to go to Oregon. You Oregonians have made me drool more times than I can count with your landscape photos.
But, the drive is too long to even be considered for a short vacation. I don't want to spend the whole time driving. :(
We are only about 7-8 hours from the coast if we go straight west.

Yeah --- but you have Bryce and Zion and and and... so many cool places!

It seems we have kinda stalled out on the get together next summer idea, though Denmark was bandied about this morn. :)

My thoughts on the get-together:

I most likely wouldn't go if it was oversees. :(
If it was close, it would be a family vacation, and we would all come.
If I had to fly, which would also be fine, I would come alone (or maybe with Wade) but I would need to know well in advance.

Tomorrow I will be ramping up my PP skills. The game plan will include a series of steps that have been put in place to address any complications. Going forward, I will consider several robust programs to achieve the desirable end point, beating out the competition by becoming 'The PP Source' in my area. Down the road the investment of time and capital will show an overall positive impact on strategies set in place today.

That's awesome Lonnie that your Dad worked at Northrop during that time. I can imagine him bouncing off the walls. I get like that too when I know stuff about my job that I cannot tell my wife until its on the news or the people go to court.

My dad also had a lot of great stories to tell when he worked for Mosler. He wasn't under any obligation to keep secret about those, though, and told me them as soon as he got home from work. Several years ago I wrote an article for an e-zine about several of them, including one that got me in a bit of trouble the next day.

I had a friend in high school that would snip the 'Love Is' comics from the paper. Daily. Even then I could only take so much sunshine and light
