I wonder if Charlie and Ralph remember me. I could ask them to help. They're a couple Hell's Angels members my brother and I knew back in the early 90's. When my brother mentioned a female friend of his was having trouble with a classmate at college who wouldn't leave her alone, they volunteered to pay him a visit with some of their "brothers". (We didn't take them up on the offer.)

A visit from the men in balck??:rolleyes:

Navy blue, actually... Mosler is a company that supplies alarms and security systems for banks. My dad had lots of funny bank robbery stories to tell. Once, he told me about a robbery at the bank I had just opened an checking account with. I had to go to the bank the next day since they had made a mistake in the address on my new checks, and while I was getting that corrected, I casually mentioned the robbery from the day before.

The details about the robbery hadn't been released and it wasn't even mentioned on the news, so I immediately became suspect #1. I spent a little time in the bank president's office, the cops were called, my dad was called to verify my side of the story, I got new checks printed, and I went home... It was a weird day.

Bit of advise when driving through the park, if there is a tall tower with a guard in it, don't under any circumstances, never, ever, try to fudge on the "leave car windows closed" rule. They mean business. We kept the windows up tight through the bear area at the park we went to, but we did have them open through the rest of the park, including when the Artic Wolf was a mere three feet from the car.:D;)

Dave and Buster's is fun...there is one here in San Antonio....always packed.

I don't remember a Dave and Buster's when I was stationed in San Antonio, but; there was a place called The Magic Time Machine that was fun and good food. Is Dave and Buster's a restaurant?

My boss gets real pissed when I skip out on work, but I know how to deal with him. :)
Besides, he works me too hard most of the time anyway.

Been to Plano, and didn't tell me? Tsk..
Twice? Tsk tsk ... I was about 8 years ago.

According to Yahoo Maps, I'm 171 miles away. Why? You wanna meet up? I might be able to do that if you'll be there on a Wednesday or Thursday... 171 miles is quite a jaunt. :? I was thinking you were closer. We'll be arriving in SD Wednesday night.

Did you mention your plans to go to the Wild Animal Park in your PM to John? His wife works at the San Diego Zoo, and they own the WAP. She might be able to get you a discount (or better).I did (And he has been SO helpful) Heather suggested the 3 for 1 park pass. My friend says that they sell them at Costco for a good deal less than online or in person. *thumbs up* so we'll probably do that.

I don't remember a Dave and Buster's when I was stationed in San Antonio, but; there was a place called The Magic Time Machine that was fun and good food. Is Dave and Buster's a restaurant?
D&B's... the best way to describe it would be 'adult arcade' not adult as in "shifty eyes 'adult" just as in, you have to be of drinking age. But it has arcade games and pool tables, etc. Coming from Utah where alcohol is so severely monitored, it was a HOOT to be playing an arcade game and have a cocktail waitress come up to us.

You can't drive through the Wild Animal Park in San Diego... They do have safari trucks you can ride in, though.I was wondering about that, and can't seem to find any info on it. Are the safari trucks part of the park experience, or is it an added charge to do that once you get in?

Yeah, it would be a bit of a drive for me, but if I can work it into my schedule, I'm willing. What dates are you looking at, again? I've been wanting to go to the Wild Animal Park again for some time, now.

Last time I was there, they had a monorail thingy that went around the huge areas where the animals roam free. Heather mentioned a couple weeks ago that the monorail has been removed, so I'm not really sure how visitors get to see the critters in those areas now... The WAP web site (http://www.sandiegozoo.org/calendar/wap_photo_caravan.html) mentions an optional "Photo Caravan Safari", but it sure is 'spensive! I remember a safari truck option back in 2004, but I don't think it was even half that price...

It would be next week. So... the 11th? Think about it, and if that's something you want to do, we'll make sure that the wildlife park is on our schedule for Thursday.

The officer from Josh's school just called me. (Immediate stomach jump)
Then he says Josh was involved in an accident (Stomach clenching)

Then he says Josh is up and walking and coherent, so breathe easy. (Breath a little easier, but heart still pounding)

He rides his bike to school, and got hit by a car.

A bus driver reported it as a hit and run.

I talked to Josh, and he said he's fine, it knocked him off his bike, but he didn't hit his head, and he only got a few scratches.

Deep breaths.

I guess the 'incident is documented' and Josh wanted to stay at school, so they'll just watch him to make sure he's ok.

Geez.

Hopefully the bus driver got the car's license plate number and description. Hopefully the driver of that vehicle will be arrested. Why wouldn't you stop and render aid if you just hit a kid for crying out loud?!!

Glad he's ok. Really Really glad!

Mark how is your Nathan doing?

Mgdh
3rd of October 2007 (Wed), 11:38
He's not doing too badly at the moment, thanks Crissa.

He's still wearing the 'splints' at night to stretch the muscles/tendons and althoguh he does not like them, he's got used to them a bit so he's sleeping better with them.

The biggest worry is if these don't work, we may have to resort to surgery and he's getting very nervous about even the remotest possibility of that. However, the splints do seem to be helping already - he's able to stand better if he thinks about it. Part of the problem now is the habit he has formed in the way he walks :(

I'll keep you all up to date when I can on that.

BearLeeAlive
3rd of October 2007 (Wed), 11:42

it does look horrible...they said it started happening after people went to work/school this morning so pets are in jeopardy because no one is being let in the region and they're trying to figure out a way possible to get in there to see if there's elderly or others trapped...but everything is still moving...
