GMAE, all. Its a fairly nice day out and I was all set to go photograph colorful trees alongside the river while the kid took ballet. Turns out that today was parent visitation day, so I stayed inside and shot kids instead. :confused:

So I'll bore you with these, lol

Not all of the posts mentioned her by name, though. I haven't really culled through the Ashley thread yet, since I already know everything in there is relevant and I'll use most of it. But in TPBM3 I went back to the post where I made the announcement, and in RRTP3 I started at Scott's post, and started skimming forward, writing down the post numbers I want to use as I went. I went forward about three days or so and came up with 30 in this thread and 9 in RRTP3 that I'll probably use in some way.

Looks like she grew 6 inches this summer.

She is about 48 inches tall now, but not sure how much she grew over the summer. Only an inch or two, I think. She has gained 4 pounds recently so I think she's going to shoot up again. She always pudges up a bit before growing taller. She ate 6 hot dogs with buns in one sitting a few weeks ago. :shock:

Gmae friends just got home from a day at white mountain area of NH it was stunning

Well, we were going to Central Oregon awhile back and meeting up with the Boring Boys.

PermaPuddle and I were in my vehicle (a Tahoe). Boring Riley reminded me that there was a parade in Sisters and we ought to avoid it. So I did a google mape and voila - detour!

Well, something went terribly wrong and we ended up on washboard roads from he!!. These were liver-jigglers. Anyway, we stumbled across some beautiful country that we never would have seen. But do you think that Meany Head Permie can let me hear the end of it??? NOOOOOOO!!!!

My day was uneventful. Ended up going to a 'party'/family gathering for my wife's cousin from 11am to about 530. When I got home, I had the bright idea of going out on my bike for a quick ride here in the neighborhood...mind you with 10-15% grade hills...lets just say my legs are spaghetti right now:lol:

Cat I have an odd request..can you take a pic of your olympus' charger and post it? I can't seem to find mine in my sea of chargers and cords and such. A point of reference would help.

I have a color code system. All the velcro wraps are a different color, and I have a sheet saying what color is what. Olympus is gray. :D

We had a great trip to the mountains. I must say I am not one suited to be treated with the level of service I was at the hotel we stayed at, I am much more used to the whole self-service thing.
I mean...
-They parked my vehicle - had to use the top of their parkade due to it being a big truck with a canoe on top
-Carried luggage to the room - one small backpack for me plus one huge camera case, could done it myself, but hey, it was part of the deal.
-Called Sir or Mr Bennett everywhere I went - Jim woulda worked just fine
-Down pillows softer then we have at home, a feather tick to sleep on, housecoats supplied, big screen TV, just a fantastic room with a view down the lake. :)
-Dynamite food, great service, they even served jam in little jars to us, none of the plastic thingies we are used to
-They served us iced lemon water while we were in the hot tub (woulda served beer at $6 each)
-And on. and on , and on. :)
Hmmm, I could get used to it, but my wallet can't take any repeated hits like that. Cost me a good part of a new lens, it did. ;)

As much as it was fantastic, I would still prefer a tent set up in a secluded spot. 75% of the guests were from foreign countries. Mostly Japanese with a bunch of Europeans thrown in.

Sounds like it was a great trip....by your discription I pictured those commercials for the cruise lines that the whole commercial was about someone bragging about being pampered on the cruise as if they were a movie star.:lol:

LOL, good idea. I think I freaked them out after coming in to the lobby wearing my hiking gear and a wide brimmed oilskin hat. :)

It was great. They had put away their canoe rental fleet for the year , so we had the lake to ourselves. I'm thinking we made it in to a few thousand photos. :lol:

We did not get to do as much hiking as we would have liked to. The fresh snow in relatively warm weather make for treacherously slippery trails, real hard to go up a slope on. We did get to do some level stuff along the lake though.

I am beat, it was a bit windy out there today, but will try to get a couple photos PP'd soonly. :)

I was testing flash shooting w/o blowing out his whites, in low light with a diffuser. He's my prime subject, since he's the only one with white fur. After about 20 shots, he was really grumpy...some of the other shots are so funny...you can really tell he's bugged.
