Hi,

I'm not a big member of this forum, but I know there are a bunch of kiwi's floating around in here so I thought I'd ask the question here.

I'm looking at getting a couple of the heavyweights of simple lighting techniques down here to run a couple of courses for the kids of Aotearoa - David Hobby (aka strobist) and Zack Arias (onelightworkshop)

I was just wondering what the response would be like from the kiwi's to having this opportunity.

I've already talked to them both about this and they're dead keen to come and visit our country, but I thought we might as well use their knowledge when they get here and get them to throw a course on at the same time.

I'll post something on my blog later today regarding expressions of interest, but feel free to answer here too.

Thanks for your time,
Brent.

You should post this in the Kiwi thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=379176). Or link it in to them.

I figure we could do a North Island and a South Island, depending on the interest levels, if it goes crazy we may even do an Auckland/Wellington/ChCh one (all you Dunners folk speak up!)

It's all very much in the preparation phase, so there isn't much info apart from asking if people are interested.

If you're not sure who these folks are then check out:

I would be interested, but cost would have to be a consideration :)

I would also be interested. Are we talking about a weekend type of thing or evenings?

Well, I'm not sure of any details yet, but it looks to me that we would have enough interest to forge ahead after just one day on a couple of forums, so I will go away and see what we can come up with for them.

keep em coming though because I'll use the thread to get back to you all......

Give Rob Dreisson (http://www.rdphotography.co.nz/) a call, he's the head of the Wellington NZIPP branch. He'd be the person who might be able to arrange it. Given the expense of flying people out here they'd probably have to do a national tour.

Yeah - I was going to see if they wanted to know about this too, thanks Tim.

David will come on the back of an Aussie tour, Zack will come because I owe him beers. :D

NZIPP might be interested parties, I'm not a member so I don't know how they work, but I'll look up Rob when things get firmed up and see what we can do.

I would contact Rob ASAP to let him know what's up, tell him I suggested you call him for a chat - use my full name. NZIPP needs to plant things well in advance, especially since Yervant & Joe Buissink are already coming later in the year. PM me if you want to know anything.
