it is in between page az, and kanab utah. on hwy 89. (i think) you have to go to the blm office they hold a drawing to determine who goes. groups must be 6 or smaller. the drawing is for the following day. if you look up vermillion cliff and paria river, in az you will get lots of information about it.

I think in the 2nd shot, the little tree in the foreground and the rock fight for attention. I like the 1st a lot better

I agree, number 1 is better. The pattern of the rock speaks for itself and doesn't need to compete with the bushes.

I'll vote for Number 1. Wish I could see it in person.

i think this often gets overlooked when people go to the wave. i looked around but never seen a photo of it

just curious,
why do they do a drawing? is there a lot of demand?
the pix are great !

to keep the impact down on the area, they only allow 20 a day in, 10 from the blm station and 10 from the internet, i dont know how the internet works, i have not tried the internet thing... ya know i am 1300 miles away

I like it. I think it needs a tad boost in contrast. Other than that, nice shot.

Very nice. The first is better, IMO. Lots of people go to The Wave and leave as soon as they finish shooting it. I usually spend hours there, exploring and shooting the whole area. Lots of color and unique formations. I have posted a few of them in years past.

Wonderful shots. I kick myself for not making time to visit the wave area when I was out there a few months ago.

i am partial to the first one as well, i was going through my photos and i found the second one, i like the bush i the front but i dont like that you cant see that large sandstone hill in the background as well. and i agree that they seem to fight for attn. i do like the second one though

Both shots are nice but I like #1 better. I think the tree in the second shot takes a bit of the attention.
