Went to a local amatuer moto x and had a difficult time. Of course by the 2nd or 3rd race, the light was down and I had to shoot at a 1600ISO to keep a 1/60+. I tried to keep the lens zoomed out as much as I could to retain all the light I could. Also I had AI Servo turned on, which is a good or bad thing while panning with the kit lens?

All the photos were ran through the Sharpen/Color batch thats pre-built into Photoshop CS2, some seem a bit dark to me but I am just on an XVGA laptop screen.

Anywho heres the album and a few shots from the album:

1. These next two were one of the first races where there was enough light to get a descent image. Still had AI Servo on and in AV mode.

3. I think I was in AV mode here, the loss of light caused the shutter speed to be lower then what I would have liked

4. By this time it was 9pm and completely dark. There were lights randomly placed throughout the track and I tried to catch a rider as he passed through the light. I wish these turned out better.

A lot of the photos look ok untill you do a 100% crop and nothing is sharp. You can look at my photoalbume link to see some 100% images. I understand its a kit lens, but just wondering what else I can do to get sharper images. C&C is more then welcome!

some seem a bit dark to me I think the sky influenced your meter reading. Try this with "M" next time: Need an exposure crutch? (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89123) Still had AI Servo on AI servo needs a bit of help to get started sometimes: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=73309
And good panning depends on a lot of factors.
first shoot with moving cars need advice. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=358481)
