slow shutter release

When shooting in manual mode the shutter button seems almost delayed and the pictures are not clear. It also displays busy after the shot is taken. Anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps it would help to tell us what camera and settings you are using. I would also include EXIF info like shutter speed, etc.

Manual is for shutter and aperture control. What shutter speed is selected? Sounds like it's a second or maybe even longer. The camera will display "Busy" as it runs the clean up software on the image to remove video noise (any image over a second or less will get the treatment. - see your manual)
