Really beautiful job! Great exposures, and nice framing on most of them. The majority of them you can't tell were taken in a zoo! :D

thanks for your kind words, i tried to make it look as natural as possible, climbed fences, shoot through glasses and cages, they turn out better than i thought, at one point i climbed up a fence with "no climbing" sign right next to me with staff watching, thought i was gonna get thrown out the zoo ...
glad u liked them :)

Pretty good pictures for someone without a camera!

Wow, these are outstandingly sharp! Great job! They put all of my animal shots to shame, but certainly give me something to work towards.
What lens did you use for these shots and what settings did you use with the lens? The lens is especially important when you don't have a camera! :D
Thanks for sharing!

Well, I was just out on my lunch break and went by a mini-zoo. The sheep lept at the fence and me when I tried to take pics. The donkeys didn't want to stand where I wanted them. The birds flew away and the monkeys laughed at me.
Oh, and I need a telezoom.

claire, i know exactly what you mean. it was perfect for me either, the rhino one was pure lucky. they were resting on the floor when i went into the room, someone pressed speaker button and music started, those two big fellas stood up all of a sudden, after i quickly snapped the shot, they realised it was nothing and went back to sleep.
same is the monkey one. i stood in front of the glass try to find something inside, but couldn't see anything, and this particular one jumped out from no where and stared at my lens, right after i pressed shutter, it was gone.
i guess u just need to hang around for a bit and get camera ready. u never know when it's gonna happen. oh, get a telephoto lens as well, it's very useful when it comes to those unpredictable creatures.
