If you were buying a new 10D for 1150, would you purchase 3 year Mack warranty for 90 bucks? I think it might be worth it in the long run but wanted you opinion.

I consider those generally a waste of money. The way I look at it is if something is going to go wrong it will happen while the camera is under the mfg's warranty period. The second thing I consider is that since about 1995 when digi's were young I have upgraded at about the 18 month time frame so this really never comes into play. Your siutation may differ. My 2 cents.

I did, haven't used it yet of course. But after seeing that my G1 has a "loose screw" pop off after 2 years and blow a fuse, the extra $90 for something much more expensive isn't a bad idea imho.

Generally speaking, if they are offering it, they are making money on it. They aren't offering it because there are good odds of having to spend money on your camera. ...just my opinion.

would you purchase 3 year Mack warranty...
I had my first film camera for 20 years; no problems. The longest I've had a digital is 13 months (still no problems); but, technology moves just too fast now. If it dies in a year and a half, thank your lucky stars for the excuse to upgrade. :D

I dont need that excuse! I understand your point though. Maybe I should, maybe I shouldnt. I know if I do buy it, it may help the resale value too.

Just as a note, are you planning on buying a 10D and selling it within the year? hehe. It wont help the resale value that much even if you do plan on selling it.
Manufacturer warranty should be sufficient. Most manufacturing defects tend to show up quite early anyway. I think thats 90 bucks better spent on a 50 1.8 and a nice camera strap.....

Dont have the camera yet but I do have the 50 mm 1.8. What camera strap are you referring to? Do you guys think I should go with BIG ED?

Where are you going to buy the 10D? I guess you mean US$ 1150? That price sounds very low. Remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. If you're going to buy it online, check the store at http://www.resellerratings.com . Beware for the many shops that will try to rip you off by charging you with excessive shipping costs, or who'll send you the camera without battery, software, etc. (what is supposed to be in the box with the camera).

Looks OK..... just wanted to warn you, unfortunately there are still so many unsuspecting customers that the scammers can still survive....

Ohh believe me. I went to cnet.com and check for prices and the first 6-8 vendors are all scammers which sucks because alot of people trust cnet.com. Ohh well.

Here is how I look at it. $80 for 3 years. That is about $2.22 a month. Yes I bought the warranty.
When I decide to buy a new body in the next year or so I'll have a good backup that is still under warranty. :D
