Just wanted some input on the PNY Optima Pro brand compact flash card. I found a 2G 133x card for $30.00 on sale. Does anyone know if they are any good? Is there a big difference between the different brand of cards? And is the speed how fast it downloads to your computer? Any input would be great.

Card speed's a theoretical maximum, measured with optimized gear, downhill, with a tail wind. That said, the sale flyers for Office Depot or Staples, IIRC, had SanDisk Ultra IIs (about as fast) for about the same price. I only buy SanDisk any more, and at least Extreme III. They just work.

I have some PNY SD cards and they worked alright. One stopped working properly though. Kingston has 4GB 133x at Adorama and B&H though after a mail in. So if you don't mind spending $120 up front, you'll get 8GB total for $60.

Just make sure whatever you buy are legitimate cards, there are a lot of fakes about. Personally I use sandisk & kingston cards.
