Ok I was looking at telephotos to take pictures at the senior open. I know that with my luck I will be far away form the players. I have a 70-200mm that would work but I don't think it is enough. So I got the brilliant idea to look at B&H. 500mm f/8. I know the f/ stop is to high but still for $109! I almost forgot to add I have a Minolta X-700

Go find some sites that show examples of images from mirror lenses. You might not like the doughnut-shaped blurs in the background. Mirror lenses can look fine in the right situation, but they're few and far between.

And for $109 do you really think that the glass is going to be very good?

So I'm trying to stop you. Go get a teleconverter for your 70-200...

I can't find a teleconverter. Thanks for talking me out of it. :D I will have to go with what I have already I guess.
