Got my 70-300 DO today

Well built, feel great in hand, heavier than I excepted.

Took some random pictures from my apt, not trying to make the lens look nice, so all images are resized only ( my account does not support full size), taken at different zoom and aperture. I don't know if those samples are gonna help, but I believe someone out there might be interested.

The shots look pretty good. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a purchase myself. Post some more if you've got them. How's the focusing speed etc. and are you doing much processing before posting?

Excellent sharpness wide open AFAICT. I would really be interested to see some 100% crops to judge sharpness for sure.

Congratulations on your very nice new lens!

I made the jump from my 75-300 IS to a new 100-400L IS a few days ago. The 75-300 IS was a nice lens and i did make some nice photos with it. But now with the 100-400L IS... what a difference! Yes of course i know..... it costs (in my country) more than three times as much!

At first i wanted to switch from my 10D to the 1DMK-II, but since i do not need the fps, i decided to save the money and spend it on L-lenses instead. Next ones i´ll buy the 17-40L and the 70-200L IS.

Have a good time with your 70-300DO. I´m sure you will enjoy it a lot.

The lens is very nice, focusing speed is fast, IS rocks.
