View Full Version : Sorority photos: I need advice on pricing

I took pictures for a sorority and would like some advice on pricing/packaging. For the photos there were 3 or 4 group class photos (seniors, juniors, etc) and 1 total group photo. Most people would just like the photo of their class and/or the entire group photo. I think the only sizes involved would be 8x10 and 11x14. What would you recommend for pricing? I plan on having Adorama print them. Has anyone used their print service?

I was thinking something like per person: 11x14=$10, 1st 8x10=$10 and each additional 8x10=$5

But isn't $10 cheap for an 8x10/11x14?

It is to me, but I'm not a sorority girl lol

It costs a good fraction of that just to print one.

That's true, i was going off of Adorama's old prices (must've been some special they were running). (NOsquid, do you ride?)

Maybe I'll up the price some...

I would charge $20 for an 8x10 and $10 for a 5x7. I think that's reasonable for college students. I think the 5x7's would be more popular.

Good idea. What would you charge for the 11x14? I think they'll only get one or two of those for the house. Most of the girls, like you said, will probably get 5x7s or 8x10s.

Not that I know of, I just picked up on the terminology. I don't really frequent any bike forums.

id charge 30 for the 11x14 because for a quality lab print youll be looking at paying at least 15 bucks for it

Thats what I charge for 11x14.. Of course, I also charge for sitting fee, and I think my price for the print is more than reasonable.
