Nice, #1 is my favorite. Is that Garden of the Gods?

Thanks Kenny - it sure is! I just returned this morning from a visit out there.

Cool, I've not seen rocks quite like those except there and at Roxborough. I was thinking maybe there were some I didn't know about. :)

My only complaint is on #3. I know it's middle of the day, so I'll leave the harsh light lecture out of it. Your horizon is off by close to 10 degrees counter-clockwise. I can tell by the vertical spire left-of-center of the image. Rotate please.
The other two look great. The color transitions are excellent. Great job.

I don't think so. These are not vertical outcroppings for the most part. If you look at the trees you may get a better indication (though they are shadowed) of what is vertical. I'm a bit unsure exactly how level it is, but I do know these formations lean to the left as is indicated and as can be seen in my images from Roxborough in my gallery.

KAC - You are most correct, the rock formations do, definitely, lean to the left. If I turn the photo10* CW, as suggested, sure, the rocks will be straight but the trees and the clouds will be off. ;)
Turning the photo 10*CW, makes the trees slant towards the right and the clouds look like they're climbing up the hill.

:) I totally missed the clouds, that's always a good indicator of horizontal. :)

Having read the discussion about 3 makes me like it more for the optical illusion than it's original merit. upon initial inspection, I think I would also make the same assumption that it's WAY off horizon. However, knowing now what I do from Kenny and Kerrie I find the shot much more intriguing. I do wish I could see more detail in the second, deeper set of rock formations though.
Thanks for sharing.

Pretty good. check that the horizons are straight.

Been there several times... That photo doesnt need rotated at all. Those rocks are not perfectly vertical and its at the base of a foothill, which is what you can see beginning at the right side of the photograph.
I think these are nice, but are also the exact same shots that are in my collection and everyone else's. Try to push the creativity a bit ;) Maybe it is just because I am what you can call a "local" and that's just the same ol' composition ya see.

Great colours and spectacular scenery! I think the second shot could be more effective though. I find the horizon is nearly in the centre of the pic, and there is just too much plain and uninspired foreground. Others obviously disagree, but that's what makes photography great--what one person loves another may not, and vice-versa

Here are a few more -- not so sure anyone will like them any more or any less than the others but.. what the hey...

All are great but your latest additions are stunning. You're a natural when it comes to landscape.

Nice shots Kerrie! Should I ever move back to the "Lower 48", it will be in that area!
