I am looking for a fast USB 2.0 card reader and it looks like the Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 the Lexar Professional USB 2.0 CF Reader are the only ones out there (I would use firewire but I am working off of a laptop with 4 pin firewire port). Has anyone used either one of these? I have tried the Sandisk model and it is faster than the Multi reader I have been using but I am still not satisfied. There is a huge price difference in the two (Sandisk $30 - Lexar $80) but I am wondering if the Lexar is faster or not. The Sandisk is reading a 2.7GB of data from a Sandisk 16GB Extreme III in 5 to 6 minutes.

Thanks for any input!

i get speeds of ~16MB/s with my Sandisk Extreme USB reader and Extreme III 2GB card. it's blazin fast as far as i'm concerned. but if you want to compare the 2 card readers, check here:

from looking at it... it appears to me that the price difference between the 2 is not worth it... the Lexar is faster on some and the Sandisk is faster on others. It seems the Lexar is a little faster overall, but but not by much... like ~.2MB/s
