Photo Gallery Sites

Well I've decided to get off my butt and start working on my website. So I'm out looking for ideas and designs and other things I can steal and call my own. :)

Do you have a favorite photo gallery site beyond the standard sites like PBase / Fotopic / etc? Have you ever seen a site that makes you say "Wow" or "that's a cool feature" or otherwise gets your attention?

Anything you love or hate about photo sites in general?

If so, please list them here. I'd appreciate it.


PS: If you have a cool site that you want to get noticed this would be a good place to mention it... :wink:

My favorite is Pekka's Exhibit Engine !

I have tried both Gallery and Coppermine and both was not up to same standard as EE.

I've looked at all the gallery software and haven't been happy with *something* or another. I'm looking more for home-grown stuff, not pre-packaged.

Lekouti posted a topic the other day, "esthetics of my site", and posted his site http://arnaudpoilleux.free.fr/ - which is very well done, I thought, and it got me thinking about simplicity rather than "cool."

But I'm not completely convinced one way or the other, and basically need some ideas to spark my non-designer designs.

I have not tried that one myself but I think it looks ok and seem very fast. It has been developed by a dane.
