Resetting picture count??

I messed up I inserted the CF from my Canon A70 with 1800 shots into my D-rebel with only 550 shots. Now my Rebel reads 1800 shots. Is there an easy way to rest the camera back to the 550 range???
I formatted the card. set it to reset it and it created 100-001...so then I put my last picture I took 100-541 set it to continues and it starts at 102-200???? I can't figure it out.

Shoulda been 105, not 100. It starts a new folder every 100 pics, so you need to create folder 105CANON and put the last file in there 105-nn.

Glad to have helped. Had to find out how to do it when my D60 came back from Canon with some improbably-high frame count. Fortunately I play with computers for a living so psyching it out wasn't hard.
