Okie its not the mirror, its not the focusing screen, its not the sensor this time :)

Its your view finder, yup the one at the end of your eye :p How do you guys clean those? I tried blowing but some of those stuff just won't come off, and its probably pointless cleaning it right since its expose and will get dirty again pretty soon. But if you guys do clean it, what do you use?

Thanks.

Check the other thread about the mirror..........you'll find your answer there ;-)

mmm but I am not talking about the mirror nor the focusing screen directly on top of the mirror. I am talking about the view finder, outside, you know the first piece of glass class your eye sees when looking in the view finder, you know where the rubber eye piece is? errr if I miss it on the other thread let me know but I have look thrice and I dont see anything accept the mirror and the focusing screen directly on top of the mirror. again I am not talking about anything that is inside the body of the camera but the one outside. errrr sorry if I am not clear enough.

You can take off the eyepiece - pinch the sides of the rubber and lift it up - if you do that it's quite easy to clean the viewfinder with a small brush or a cotton swab.

Thanks Jesper! And there is no worries about scratches and such to that particular part? Thanks again.

Ferdinand,

The only effect will be on what you see - it won't have an effect on the final image or the camera's focussing ability. But the general rule remains - take care!

Cheers,
Barry

Thanks Barry, just thought I asked before I take to it myself on doing that :) You are right it doesnt affect the final image, but just seeing grim and stuff on it annoys me  So a cotton swab it is. I doubt it has any sort of special coatings to worry about right? I just don't want to make it any worst than I have to :D
