Is there anybody who can tell me more about EPOCH? I looked at their website but this is the first time I hear of them. Is this a popular site?

I just started the website so, no, it's not (yet) popular. However, with a few good men (and women) it may become popular...Seriously, the purpose is to bring together people (serious amateurs) from different backgrounds, interests, photographic inclinations, and build galleries of high photographic quality, scope and depth. And in the process have some fun. The better the quality of the site the more traffic it will generate and the more exposure everyone involved will have.

I had the idea a few months ago looking at the quality of the photographs people post in these forums. Recently Pekka initiated a gallery on his site for Canon digital users where you can post two pictures. The idea of EPOCH is a little like that but not restricted to Canon users and not restricted to only two pictures. Think of it as a "virtual photos agency for amateurs" where the purpose is not to sell pictures but to generate exposure for everyone involved--through the quality of the work exposed. (For photographers without webspace or web skills this is a free way of getting quality work online too).

I hope that many people in these forums will be interested in participating, either as regular contributors or temporary exhibitors and that it will create good interraction and feedback among members and fun for everyone.

By the way if anyone has ideas to improve the concept, feel free to provide feedback!
