What do you think? Is she pretty or not?

A bit old to my tastes, but I'm sure she looked smokin' when she was half her age. :? Not that she looks all that bad now, though. It's primarily the clothes that aren't to great. They're sort of gaudy..

Several problems here.
1 ) Background is bleah at best.
2 ) She is out of focus.
3 ) Harsh and uneven facial lighting.
4 ) She is out of focus.
5 ) Is she taking out the trash? What is in her hand?
6 ) She is out of focus.
7 ) Expression is less than pleasant. Worried?
8 ) Even looking at the full size image - she is STILL out of focus.
Sorry, man. This one barely ranks as a Snapshot.

That's ok, Radtech, it doesn't bother me all that much. This focusing has me in a rut, though. I shot this photo with a shutter speed of 1/320. Was
that too slow for a moving object? It bugs me becuase I know these can be good photos, and I have others that are better, but I can't use them because
of the focusing issue. The focal length on just about all my shots is 400mm,
which I suppose isn't good on a lens that's been reviewed as soft at 400mm,
but as Springsteen would say, "That's where the fun is."
I know one thing, when I get some money, I'm going to invest in some
quality shorter glass and see what happens.

Hey Rick, don't discount "camera shake" if you aren't steady you can blur it quick.
Two words IMAGE STABILIZER, otherwise know as IS. Fantastic for anything moving, flying, jumping or taking out the trash!

Yeah, I'm thinking camera shake. The lens I'm using is a 100-400mmL IS,
and the IS is turned on. I'll keep working.
Just checked my camera settings before going out. Grrrr. IS is set to off
Maybe there's hope, after all.
