First of all, definitely "Taylor". Why? Because it's only 2 sylables instead of 3, and rolls off the tongue better. What about something less obvious...."Taylor Photographic"? Or a play off that, like "Taylor Photo Graphics". Or maybe even "Taylor Imaging" or "Taylor Photo & Imaging"...trying to encompass the ever expanding job description which now often includes post processing, custom printing, scanning, etc...expand the name to include where the industry might be taking you. Of course this will be different for all of us. I personally just started a company called "White Dog Digital". This is to include ALL my services which not only includes Photography, but color management, retouching, scanning, giclee printing, etc...

Just some thoughts. Try to think a little more outside of the box.

Those three names would stand out from the run-of-the-mill use of "XXX Photography", of which I'm guilty myself. However, I used my First and Middle names which fit well together.

Good luck.

well considering I'm a patterson, and the other major photog here is a patterson- which is why I chose to not use it...and I think it's very common....I'd go with Taylor!

Thanks. I deff have a thought for Taylor Photo & Imaging. I like that, I really do. Custom printing, what would that be?

IMO if your first name is one syllable, it would even sound better.

eg, Paul Taylor - Photo & Imaging

By "custom printing" I was just referring to printing being a major part of your business. I'm not talking about running off a few copies on a cheap home/office inkjet, but a very serious printing sideline, done on high end printers (Epson 3800, 4000, 4880, 7880, 9880, and the new awesome dream machine, 11880), controlled by very good RIPS, or at the very least, using custom made profiles for the specific paper being used, along with custom matte and frame services, etc....Many photographers send out their printing, but I personally love the additional control it offers me, but to get into this you're talking about very large additional investments in both money AND time and training.
