View Full Version : S3 IS Zoom Focus problem

I was just outdoors, taking a few shots with my Canon S3 after our 1st rainfall in several months. My macros on a tripod focused ok, but when I tried to take a hand held shot of a light pink rose that was near the ground, it would only give me the green "in focus" rectangle if I zoomed back out to where the viewfinder indicated 30-50mm. Whenever the indicator changed to 90mm it would no longer focus the subject.

I was trying several different settings off & on out there, so did I push a wrong button somehow or what's causing this? I haven't had this problem before.
Thanks.

Try steping back when the indicator shows 90, because the focus distance increases

Thanks Techuser. I think what happened is that I must have not turned off macro, even though I thought I had.
