There is a guy on this message board i spend a little (a very little) time on who is having a hard time deciding which body to buy, 300D or D70. I keep telling him to base his purchase on the lenses rather then the body.
He wont have anything of it though i guess...his loss
Anyways someone posted a picture of a squirl with his D70 and "showed it off"
So i decided that my canon and i should "show him up"

Hmmm....
You know, both with the D70 and 300D you can make really great photos. If that guy is going to decide to buy he D70 or the 300D based on the photos that different photographers show him, made with those cameras, he's deciding on the wrong criteria - how good the photo is depends more on the photographer than on the camera. If he picks the 300D, it's a more a compliment to you than to Canon.... :)
Also, I don't think we need to pity Canon if they sell a 300D less... they are an enormously big and rich company and we should be glad they have some serious competition from Nikon and others - a monopoly wouldn't be good for us, customers.

You showed that D70 who's daddy.
BTW nice shot, squirl would look amazing if it were a lil sharper.

I couldnt agree more jesper, but hey..if i can get a chap to buy a canon, then all the better...i guess.
Ok, the truth is i'm sick of hearing all these people who have been using 1megapixel P&S's for the last 4 years coming into all these message boards and acting like they know what they heck they are talking about when it comes to DSLR's

The squirrel-in-a-cage guy took a full auto mode shot.
I really cannot recall taking a photo in full auto mode, not even the P-mode... must have ben years... 8) Personally I think it is a sin using full automatic if you own an SLR. It would be just if... um.. actually I can't think of bizzare enough circumstances to justify it. :D
It's really hard to make someone understand that it's not just the camera he's buying when he's buying and SLR, but hey, let them learn on their own.
