Not my favorite picture of mine but a strange one from Bukhansan National Park in Seoul, South Korea. I have a few similar to this but I am interested in some feedback. This was taken with a 28-135. It was a little cloudy and the visibility was not that good. I want to go back to this area with my new lenses on a day that is more clear and sunny. I wonder what I might want to consider on that next trip. Thanks for any comments in advance.

ijohnson,

The image won't come up on my computer.

Maybe the link is broken?

I even tried your original at http://image.pbase.com/u46/itj12345/upload/29775301

Still nothing.

ijohnson,

Thanks for fixing (and sharing) your photo. Is that someone picnicing on the blue blanket on the rock ledge? What a great location.

I agree about your comment on the haze or cloudy. A clear day would make for a spectacular shot.

Nice one!

Actually, I think that the haze works nicely to separate the modern city from the archaic rock.

It certainly works for me.

Best regards,
Andy

I love the shot, and as mentioned above, the haze really works well here. It would be good if we could see the people a little more easily, I didn't notice them initially, but when I did I realised how big the rocks are. If you can get one with someone standing somewhere really obvious, it would be good, eg on the top of one of the rocks.
Gee I can't believe they climb up there. It looks so scary!!! There is no way you could get me up on that ledge.

I like it. The haze makes the picture I think, as others have implied. It makes the rocks pop, and softens the city behind.

I don't particularly care for that green blanket(?) on the right.

But that's a pretty cool place, and the photo works for me.

Maybe then I might not need to look for a clear day, just a sunnier day to make the rocks pop more. I will take some L glass out there to get some better contrast next time.

I might PS that blanket out. It is very common in korea to lay out a blanket and take a nap. Good luck taking a nature picture here without a blanket showing up.

Anything else you might add? I am going back next weekend.

Here are a few more shots if you are interested
