Damaged Hummer

This little guy showed up at my feeder and I was shocked at the beak damage. On one of the photos, you can see it looks like he even injured his tongue. Didn't have any trouble feeding at the feeder and was rather violent about any other hummer trying to use "his" feeder.

Ouch. He probably flew into a building or window somewhere during migration. :(

Or maybe another bigger hummer punched his nose.

It wouldn't post the pic from the side which shows the top beak bent up and the bottom beak bent down. The tongue has the same bend in it, with the exception that it only bends down.

Poor thing. I wonder if a beak can heal itself? I hope he makes it.
