Silly questions are coming:
1- How do you make your avatar here. Went to profile but there was nothing there to load a pic.
2- Never been sent a message here, and would like to know how it looks like. can you send me a PM and just say "Hi" or something.
3- Totally different question now. Where did the saying "my two cents" comes from (I know what it means).
So if you are bored, take a shot at these questions.
Thanks

stopbath,
Guess my understanding of "my two cents" was wrong. Always thought that it's the equivalent of "IMHO" or such.
Thanks for the info. You learn a new thing every day.

umm, on a second thought, I think my understanding of "two cents" was correct.

Yep, I'll agree. "Just my opinion" and "just my two cents" are about equivalent.

To post an avatar, go to the bottom of the profile page. You'll see all the information you really need there.
Your avatar can be a file no more than 6KB, and no more than 80 pixels high and wide. I suggest you save it as a .GIF file. After you've created your avatar and saved it, then click the 'Browse' button in profile, find your file, and then click the 'Submit' button. It should upload your avatar.
It took me quite a bit of trial and error to make it work, but after you've done it once, it's easy.
Good luck.
(Just my two cents worth)

Thanks belmondo, i'll check that out.
Another btw, and I meant to ask you that question since I joing this forum: are you related to that French actor (or was he a singer). You know, that guy with lots of b's in his name.
Belmondo
22nd of July 2004 (Thu), 19:36
Nope. Not related at all. I think his name was Jean-Paul Belmondo. To be honest, I have no idea where the name comes from, but it was part of a nam de plume I used for a while when I wrote articles for a certain auto club magazine.
The only remotely famous relative in my family tree was an honest-to-goodness pirate whose name escapes me. My sister is into genealogy and discovered that little pearl somewhere.

"honest-to-goodness pirate"
My 1st language is not english, but the above reminds me of an "oxymoron".
kidding JP (belmondo)

I wouldn't admit to having a pirate in the family that was anything less than 'honest-to-goodness.' We have our pride, you know.

Before I go. Does anybody like French movies.
According to this guy, some are better than "shoot them up" or "good cop, bad cop" kind of movies.
Anyway, have a good night.

Nice avatar. As a former resident of the Bay Area, I'm happy to have lived there during the glory years. I wish they could get Eddie D. back; he sure loved to spend money on that team.
Now I live in SoCal, and really don't have a 'home team' to root for, so I guess I'm still a Niners fan. Still, it ain't the same.

I know what you mean regarding Eddie.
I lived in California in late 80's so I've seen part of the glory days. Man! they make it look so easy.
You are still in Cal. so the 9ers could still be your "home" team. And they are the only team in california...opps, forgot about the Raiders :D

Ha ha, I truly forgot about them. Sorry chargers fans. I love SD a lot though (but not as much as the Bay Area).

GREAT flick! I loved that movie.
The American re-make - Point of No Return - did have the adorable Bridget Fonda but it had none of the flavor or feeling or mood of the original. Yep, great film.
American remakes drive me crazy sometimes. The Return of Martin Guerre turned into the horrible Sommersby. Blech. What's-his-name is no Gerard Depardieu.
The Vanishing - not French but I can't remember where it came from - was made into a truly mediocre move of the same name with one of the Bridges boys. Again no flavor, no feeling, and thus none of the fear that the original had.
And may Hollywood roast in hell if they ever try to remake Jean De Florette... I'd cry like a baby if they did....
