Gary Fairhead and I were out yesterday morning and we managed to get close to this fellow. He landed on a rock and preened for about 25-30 minutes.
Bigma on Manfroto Monopod with fill flash. All shots full frame except #2 (60% of full frame) but I did back the Bigma off from 500mm several times.

Stunning shots there really shy here in the UK the slightest movment and there off.
Iv just ordered a Hide so hope to get shots that get me close like these .

4 good shots. The perspective angle shot shows him with a nice hair-do. Well done Stephen.

I was within 6 metres (~20 feet) of this bird. I didn't bother trying to get any closer as it was great shooting it from where I was at.

Seems everyone's getting to practically hand-feed Blue except for me...
Now these are indeed close. Wonderful poses.
