Hi,

I am considering purchasing a Canon 10D and was wondering if some equipment that I already had for my Canon Rebel G would also work for the 10D...

Vivitar Flash 730AF C
Tamron AF 75-300mm F/4-5.6 LD MACRO (1:3.9)

Canon 35-80mm (This was a standard lens with the Rebel G)

I would appreciate any information, experience or links that someone could pass along to help me with this. The camera itself is a big investment for me, and it would be nice to know in advance if these would work or not. Thanks.

Tammy

The canon lens will work, the tamaron lens should work but if it doesnt you can have it rechipped for the newer canon cameras. The flash will probably not work. I believe that flash is a "TTL" and is not compatable with canons new "E-TTL" flash system.

Just to confirm what headcase said. The lens should work, the flash would not work properly.

Thanks, Headcase & Conk. I sort of suspected that but hoped I was wrong. I kept seeing EF instead of AF and thought something was different here but could never find anywhere to tell we that it was different and wht the difference was. At least now I know for sure. I really appreciate the confirmation.

Thanks again,
Tammy
