Well, the thread title just about says it all. I have a TS-E 24mm lens, and the users manual, though helpful, doesn't go into any great detail. If any of you have seen a discussion elsewhere, I'd really appreciate a link to it.

As alway, thanks.

What kind of detail are you seeking?

How to use it? Or the unwritten hints of what to shoot?

Bob:
My mind is a sponge. I want to soak it all up.

But if I had to pick between those two topics, I'd say I pretty well understnad how to use it. I'd like to hear about when and why to use it.

Thanks

Thanks. I just gave it a quick glance, but it looks perfect.

Tom,
Try this one. I do not have a T/S lens but I read the article anyway a few weeks ago. You know how it goes........read an article........become $1000 poorer :D

Whoa..that one's interesting, too. They even describe how to modify the lens. Somehow, I don't think I'll be trying that anytime soon. :?

You also might want to look at some generic large format sites to see their take on tilt and shift. Here's a great site:

Avoid the math though. You know the expression "It ain't rocket science."? Well the scientific explanation of movements must rival rocket science. "The hinge rule" for example. (Don't even look it up!)

But at the end of the day the groundglass is truth. What you see is what you get. And a little forward tilt will change the plane of depth of field and as if by magic the entire foreground to horizon will be in focus.
