You guys are probably sick of the same race posted multiple times, but i thought i would share my shots with you anyways. First off this was my very first time shooting an event. I took my 70-200 f2.8IS and the 100-400 IS. shot off my monopod with either the UV or CP filters. Shot in AV & TV modes some in P just was seing what i could get with each mode. Shot 709 images all in raw. All shots were taken from Centennial Park. I was to the right of the dude with the 8ft tripod holding the 600m. Dead center of the action. Here you go. Enjoy
C&C please!

Colours really pop S.E.V. Nice job.
Does anyone take real close up shots so that the pilot's face can be seen? I'm thinking you'd need at least 600mm for doing so (and probably with a teleconverter attached).
I have to get to see one of those events soon.

These guys/gals do some serious "yank and bank" and it's very different flying than your usual airshow routine.

Yeah I've seen it on TV many a time. I'd love to be able to get a head-on shot.

Thanks guys, well these are not one time shots and straight post. I took the Raw image into light room. Then all i really played with was the clarity, vibrance, saturation slider under the basic tab. Then with the red, yellow and blue colors under the HLS/Color/Gray scale tab, also some slight movement of the Tone Curve. The one of the chopper upside down is a little much compared to the color of the skys in the other pics. But thats really all i did then resized them from the original size to 800 width and saved to jpg then posted.
Yeah if you ever have a chance to go to this type of event i high recommend you grab your gear and go. Amazing how they take the planes and twist them like they do.

Hahahaha, I wish the sunset the opposite way, both North & South Embracado island had a better view of the plains, but the damn sun was right in your face. Centennial Island was loaded with L lenses and all i heard was click, click, click, click, click for days must of heard a million shutters go off per plane.
Thanks again for all the comments. I guess its begginers luck.;)

Yeah, tell me about it. At one point there was a guy standing right next to me just blowing off the shots whenever the planes came near, and at one point I got confused and thought it was me making all that noise.
You've got some really good shots there, especially the third one with the vapor trails from the wingtips.
