Very rustic, love the effect.
Did you try cropping out the lady, maybe not... might leave too little space in front of the man.
Well done

Beautiful image? My guess is that he is sitting on a bench outside of a store in the town of Julian not far from Mom's Apple Pie shop. My friends and I take our Jeeps/trucks offroading so we go through Julian quite a bit.

With 'street photography' we've got to consider whether or not we've captured a 'special' moment, angle, dimension, mood etc. etc. - something that sets our capture apart from the ordinary. Could it have been taken by anyone simply by pointing the lens at the subject.... Or have we composed it in such a way that adds or captures the drama... I feel 'urban' photography needs to be 'beyond' the technically excellent to be successful. We have all seen examples of grainy or blurry images that tell a powerful story - technically low in quality, but strong in story-telling. I don't feel the 'power' in this shot. To me it's a picture of a blind guitarist, but sadly, nothing more. Just being honest!

I think not just street photography, but all photography comes in three fuzzy and overlapping regions.
1) The first as you say is the snapshot that most anyone can take.
2) Is the technically excellent shot (either straight from the camera or with minor touchups - like in the darkroom - with post processing)
3) The Uber shot that transcends simply excellent to become art or a once-in-a lifetime capture. etc.

I really love this shot!! Although I would have cropped out the woman, IMHO. The color is amazing!

Actually following IainB's lead, I think without the woman this would move closer to the snapshot category (other than the excellent processing). :)

Love the shot and the colors. How close were you to him? I imagine you didn't have a 50 on and you knelt down right next to him, or did you? Either way, great shot.

That's a perfectly fair opinion. Personally, I do feel the power in this shot, although I feel it as a musician. The photographer has captured that wonderful, focussed look in the guitarist's eye (despite him being blind), that really is quite expressive.
I absolutely love this image. Very tastefully captured and sympathetically edited. Excellent work!

Fantastic photo.. i'd say crop out the lady and do some selective darkening around the face or that other effect, the dragonian thing to bring more character out :)
