Here we go with another WTCC thread folks. As has been noted elsewhere it's a longggg drive to Brands for yours truly (270+ miles each way) so i'm damned if i'm not inflicting some shots on you all...hah !

Dave_G, Taity and AirMiles™ aka Wazza were all in attendance. Nice to see you chaps.

Seat are entering Turbo Diesel Leon's into the Championship now and i have a nasty feeling we'll be seeing them in the BTCC next year. Frankly they sound like a bee farting very quietly inside a bottle..awful.

Not sure if i've seen this angle used on here recently. It's a tricky shot as you're at a 45 degree angle to the fence and it's easy to get the wires in shot. It'll be a lot better from trackside though and i was trying it out for a possible project for next season.. *whistles*

Another experimental shot (for me anyway). This time it's one of the International Formula Master cars.

A classic Brands angle for some classic cars. A few from the Heritage Grand Touring car Challenge which IMO was the best race of the day with the Big GTs in equal 1st place.

For anyone who is only familiar with current Touring Car racing, this is how they used to look...a proper Touring Car. Rover SD1

The Porsche Open cars head up the hill to Druids..

A lovely old 911 in the Porsche Club race.

Alain Menu bouncing over the kerb. I think it's at Westfield although i'm probably wrong as Brands isn't a regular circuit for me..

Gear used was the now standard issue 1DMK2N and Swiss-Army issue Sigma 120-300 with & without 1.4x and 2x TC's. EXIF is intact for those of you who've taken the time to install an EXIF reader and for anyone who hasn't, it's about time you did !

Comment away if you like, it's always appreciated.

Thanks for looking in. *smiles*

Once again, great to meet you on Saturday Geoff, nice to have a North Eastener around when surrounded by shandy swilling shirt-lifters! ;) haha

I'm liking the angle of the 2nd one, narrow apature to create a long DoF for the chasing car.. yup, that's a nice shot.. especially so considering you have the catch fencing between you and the cars! :D

Love the first one Geoff. I see you boys had kinda taken over that section of Druids.

Great series.
Love the first how they're all stacked up evenly
Good to see you got great 600mm shots with that 2x converter :)
Good through the fence shot too, and love the Chevy bouncing

Cheers,
AirMiles™

David Botterill raced on Saturday at Brands then drove up to Croft overnight to do the last race of the season in the NSSCC, then jumped on a private jet and flew back down to Brands for the last race in the Porsche Cup. Now that's commitment to your racing :-)

Cheers

Some great shots there Geoff. Indeed my little old Croft thread is lost in all these WTCC threads :p

Great photos but my favourite is the Chevrolet bouncing over the kerb.
