Shot these the other day. Some I used the 70-200L and some with the 100-400L.

Any comments on technique would be appreciated. Been hunting for most of my life but just started last year taking pic's while in the field.

Over Actor, Thanks. That shot kind of came by accident. Was ripping off a bunch of shots at the bird and none really came out except for that one. I thought the wings were in a great position.

2nd on number 6, everything in that shot screams surreal.

i like number 1, the traditional classic angle

Good shots, the only thing I can say is maybe they are a bit too centered.
Other than that, They look good.

Definately not going to offend me, season opens in about 3 1/2 weeks here. I agree #6 is my favorite. If you want to post more hunting photos and not worry about upsetting people check out this site:

Pretty good little photo section with lots of people posting hunting style pics while disucssing hunting and photography.

ditto on #6, really like it. the b&w conversion screams for more contrast - it's muddled in the grays for me. thanks for posting the series. i really enjoyed the change of content from the usual "competitive" sports.

thanks for the reply. Will work on the contrast in the B & W. Wasn't sure about posting these types of pictures here but it is a sport. Glad everyone who looked at them enjoyed.

Interesting stuff. I don't hunt, I guess the fact that I have to dodge dear and geese on a regular basis in my car in my neighborhood, probably has taken the sense of sport out of it. But I do have friends that love it, and I would love to go do some "Field and Stream" style shots, just haven't gotten around to it yet. But these are a nice effort. My only comment on them though is they seem a bit cool in color. Hunting is an early morning effort or late evening. The colors should be a bit warmer in my opinion... to give them that feel.

#6 is great. Did someone get the bird after the pic was taken?

I cant wait for waterfowl season.

thanks, Yes. Did get the bird. Actually got some shots of it falling but they were out of focus. Also, didn't want to post them here. Wasn't sure what the protocol was for those types of shots.

Thanks Mark. I think it might be my screen. I tried to do some work on them but they may need more.

Overall a nice series of shots.. I can't wait to get back to the states and do some good 'ol fashioned waterfowl hunting myself. It's so hard to get a license to hunt in Germany as an American stationed here. And that's not even counting just trying to own a gun in this country. I'm going OT, but yeah, nice work. You just need a pic of a good gun dog with the goose in it's mouth and you're all set.:)
