I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section but I couldn't find a "newbie" section.
Just to say I've just joined having bought a 400D camera. I have been into photography for many years but this is my first foray into digital slr's. I live in Cambridgeshire England and I am 51 years old.
It looks as if I am going to be busy reading all the posts
Richard.

Welcome to the forums.
There is no ‘newbie’ section here. Just ask questions share your images or knowledge and many people will help or learn from you.

Welcome, Richard! Moving from film to digital is a big step but don't let all the technicalities get into the way :) Have fun with us!

Welcome Richard. Being raised in film is certainly no hinderance at all, it's a definite benefit. Just use exactly the same techniques and you'll do great.

When you finish reading all the posts, let us know how it went :). I think that would take a lifetime.

Hello Richard,
My conversion to digital started about two years ago with a Canon A620 (just to check out this brave new world). That was soon followed up with a Rebel XT and on it goes.
There is lots to learn on these forums; don't be afraid to ask questions. I have been surprised many times when others have the same problems/issues that I have.
